How can we make waste management more effective in the smart city?

We have a new tech partner!

Retrofitting existing public waste containers with sensors can make waste management a lot more effective. Today, waste collectors spend half their time inspecting the bins. With the help of sensors, the time spent on this could effectively be removed, as the sensors would alert if they were getting full, eliminating overflow.

We will now further explore this possibility, as we have reached a partnership with Norrsidans Innovation AB. Norrsidans sensors are made specifically to fit the most common litter bins in Sweden and can as such be implemented easily. The ambition in Kista is to make use of the wide array of available IoT-networks and make it “talk” to other systems and interfaces.

We are glad to welcome Norrsidans Innovation AB as a partner!
