Drone test flight opportunity at Västervik!

After seeing such great interest and enthusiasm in networking and learning from each other’s experiences with drones at a recent event, RISE decided to invite Urban ICT Arena Partners and Project Owners to team up for win-win drone test flights at the Västervik testbed.

The aim is to find good time slots when several organizations can conduct their test flights at the same time. We are approaching the time of year when we can expect beautiful weather and excellent flying conditions, so RISE will suggest days just before and after the summer vacation period.

RISE will do some real heavy lifting to help give you this unique opportunity by handling practicalities such as contact with air traffic control, opening up the airport and preparing aviation safety procedures for the flight days that you will be required to follow. The costs will be shared by everyone participating in the flight days. Exact flight plans will be coordinated later, but it is helpful for RISE to receive an indication of what you have in mind now.

Do you want to join?

If you are interested in participating, please select the dates that work for you in RISE’s Doodle and send an email to Martin Holmberg at RISE by 16 May with your answers to the following questions about the type of flight you are interested in:

  • Around the airport or other areas?
  • Typical altitude?
  • Within or out of sight?

If you are unable to provide all the information above at once, don’t hesitate to contact Martin anyway and tell him you are working on it. And if there are other measurements you want to take at another time, feel free to tell RISE, and they would be happy to see if they can help you and/or find more interested parties to coordinate with.
