Members of Parliament visited Urban ICT Arena on a sunny day on 28th May!

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Esabelle Dingizian (MP) visited Urban ICT Arena with 15 parliamentarians from the constituency in Stockholm and with the governor of Stockholm County, Sven-Erik Österberg on 28th May.

The purpose of the visit was to give the delegation a better understanding of the ICT cluster here in Kista and an insight to Urban ICT Arena. The visit was also a chance for members to establish contacts and orientate themselves on issues that are important to the future of our region.

The day ended with a dinner with the delegation and people from different social sectors were invited to.

13.50 Ericsson Studio
First of was Ericsson, presented by Helena Norrman, SVP and Head of Marketing & Corporate Relations at Ericsson. Then the city of Stockholm and RISE presented how they work in Urban ICT Arena to develop the smart and connected city.

14.40 IBM Client Center

We where greated by Gun Blom Lundgren, Channel & CSI Director at IBM Sweden with ice cream! She presented GrowSmarter – where eight European cities in collaboration with environmental technology companies test and develop smart solutions for urban sustainable growth.

15.00 Egov Lab
Visiting a research centre at that operates on a simple assumption: that good Governance based on transparency, efficiency, collective decision-making and co-creation can improve services to citizens and boost economic performance in the European Union! We also got a visit from ABB with Ola Noren that talked about current projects and their involvement and the importance of Urban ICT Arena.

15.50 Kista Mentorspace
Meeting with mentors and students at Kista Mentorspace, where they offered us freshly made popcorn and soda!

The Kista Mentorspace is an environment that uses knowledge sharing among groups of diverse individuals to accomplish goals in education, business, and societal development.

The members of parlament was so excited and interested on what the students had to say, that they went on overtime on there schedule!
